The Pentax Optio Z10 camera

October 3rd, 2008

The Pentax Optio Z10 camera features a Pentax-branded 7x optical zoom lens, the highest magnification among current Pentax compact digital cameras. It is designed with a refraction lens system and this lens never sticks out from the camera at the time of zooming. Its optical zoom covers a broad range, from a rather tight wide-angle 38mm-equivalent to a moderate 266mm equivalent telephoto. The lens is coupled with an eight-megapixel sensor and a 2.5-inch LCD display that has 230,000 pixels. In case of the LCD, the Pentax Optio Z10 forgoes any form of optical viewfinder. Other features of the camera embrace15 shooting modes, high speed face recognition for improved portraits, digital Shake Reduction that allows ISO to 3,200 to capture sharper images even in low light settings, a unique Digital Wide function that converts two images into an approximately 28mm-equivalent wide-angle image, and FotoNation’s red-eye compensation function for flash shots. Its battery comes from a proprietary lithium-ion rechargeable battery or optional AC adapter. The camera stores images on SD/SDHC cards or 52MB of built-in memory. There’s also USB 2.0 High-Speed computer connectivity and NTSC / PAL video out which will help one to see the photos or movies on a television. The Pentax Optio Z10 camera weights 145g.
