Xactic C40

Xactic C40 digital camera was launched by Sanyo, just following up on its Xactic VPC-C5. XACTIC C40 keeping hold of the same form factor as that of the VPC-C5, it compresses the capability to record video in VGA resolution at 30 FPS in MPEG4 and a 4-Megapixel CCD sensor into a package measuring a mere 108×69x34mm and 152gm. Depending on MPEG4, the C40 records video at a maximum resolution of 640×480 pixels at 30 FPS, also recording stills at resolutions up to 3264×2448 pixels. Audio is recorded at a maximum of 48KHz in 16-bit dual channel stereo, and the camcorder also put forward a wind noise reduction mode. Sporting a 5.8x optical zoom lens with a five-point multi autofocus as well as manual focus, the Xacti C40 integrates a digital image stabilizer to counteract handshake. A 1.8-inch semi-transflective display with an 85K pixel resolution swivels 293 degrees to let users record with the camera in a range of positions, also offering playback of recorded content. This camcorder uses SD cards for media storage. Additional features include an integrated flash with red-eye reduction, video out and macro mode with a minimum range of 1cm.
