What really sets this camera apart is its build quality, which allow it to survive treatment that would render other cameras inoperative. It has just about every feature you would want plus you can take it in the shower.The 850 SW is a sleek, well-designed camera that’s easy to carry around, considering it weighs only about 140 g. The entire camera has been designed not just to withstand some hard knocks but moisture too. If you’re into diving you can sink with it up to a depth of 10 feet. The battery/XD card compartment and USB port (proprietary for some odd reason) which also doubles as an AV-out are all comfortably protected by special waterproof seals and gaskets. The main reason this camera is so attractive is its toughness. To make sure your photos are good make sure and stay between ISO 64 and 400, anything above that suffers. One of the weakest aspects of the camera is the color balance which has not seen improvement over earlier models. Inaccurate colors reveal themselves primarily with indoor shots, however, outdoor pictures seemed normal.
